NZ Necessaries

Alright. I have done some pretty sweet things the past few days. No joke. Me and Rachel (my roomate and saving grace) have created our "NZ Necessaries" list of all the things we have to do while we are out here. Some of the things I have checked off are as follows
1) Bungee jump
2) Flip off a cliff
3) find transportation
4) SURF
5) Hitch Hike
6) kiss a Kiwi

HA! Best week ever. I will now elaborate on each of these items crossed off.

1) BUNGEE
Sheesh I was soooo nervous! I had to dive, head first, off of a platform 440 feet in the air! Who would know I would actually do it...... and I did it right away on the count of three! Rachel and Holly said that as I was walking up to the platform I was like an innocent little girl and kept saying"I have to jump?". I dont remember any of this, as I was trying not to freak out, but dont even worry, the song that was playing when I jumped was "shake your tail feathers" ;) hahahaha. Here is the wonderful proof of my jump. HILARIOUS. After I jump you see my face, I look terrified out of my mind. Just go ahead and have a good laugh with it.

2) Unfortunetaly for the moment I do not have any picture proof of this. I have friends who took a picture for me and I have yet to get it from them. But yes, while on my kayaking trip we went cliff diving and I, Tressa Lynn Tenney, front flipped off of a 20 foot cliff! AND I didn't even face plant or anything, justgracefull (ha yea right) flipped into the water. I've been wanting to be brave enough to do this for so long!

3) Find Transportation. As I have told you, and as you can see from the picture, I am on that freaking bike all day everyday trying to get around town! So gay! And, while I have hitch hiked, word traveled pretty fast about it and we found out we can get into HUGE trouble if we ever do it again (lame I know), so we decided we needed to find a way to travel outside of town, without having to put a whole in our pockets taking the bus or renting a car. Solution= free car competition. Listen to this,. Last night I was in a competition to win a car. HOW? We had to keep an elbow, the same elbow, on the car, and whoever kept it on the longest won it! So, 5 of us BYU students got together and decided we were going to win it. At first it was easy peasy just sitting on the ground with our elbows against the car, but then they started making it a little harder for us. RULES= Every 3 hours we got a 5 minute break (easy I know). Must keep elbow on at all times. At 8 am those who are left will be put in a drawing and then whoever is drawn gets the car. For some reason there were only 8! People competing for the car, 5 of us being a team. And we CRUSHED them. By midnight we had a game plan, and guess what, it worked! We bribed them all off of the car and WON A CAR! I HAVE A CAR! Now I can do whatever I want……its fun to do bad things ;) so yea, now I will have oh so many adventures to add to this list of mine J I can’t wait!

4) SURF. So not even an hour ago I finished class. Class for the day was simply going to the beach and SURFING for three hours. This is the life. I love it! Surfing is amazing I don’t know why I never do it at home. I will for sure be at the beach surfing everyday all day when I get back. Can’t wait!

5)Unfortunately, I do not have photographic proof of this YET either. However, it was still awesome! Dont worry I was with a boy.It was Rachel, Rusty and I. We decidedthat on our day off we wanted to get the heck out of Invercargill and explore. We had a total of 4 people pick us up. Allsuper chillpeople who offered us a ride anytime we need! The people out here are justso nice its crazy. We ended up making it to the most southern point of the island, a beautiful Curio BAy (where there is often dolphins people swim with), we got chased my an insane sealion (no joke I was scared haha), and made it home in time for dinner time (anyone know what movie thatis from??? haha ;). Apparently, we are not allowed to hitch hike and the next timewe do it we cxan get in major trouble, good thing I now have a car :)

6)Kiss a kiwi. HmmmmI'mnervous to add this one because I know my family looks atthis blog but I decided it not a big deal. The term KIWI refers to a "New Zealander" orsomeone fromNew Zealand. Theyare called that because it is their national bird. Yea kinda weird I know. Anyways, there was this free Reggae concert the other night. Itwas awesome. Of course all the Maouri or Islander people have amazing voices and a great feel for music so there was some first class performances. It was super chill and often people random people would end up going on stage and dancing with the people singing up there. I wantwed to dance, but not go on stage so I went over and started dancing with the guy who played forston stage (amazing voice, great guitarist and pretty cute). All of a sudden he took my hand and lead my onto the stage. Dont worry I unleashed allmy sweetmoves and looked likeI belonged up there :) And they evern handed me a tamborine while I was dancing.I think that was the most legit moment of my life haha. Well anyways after the song me and the guy (his name is Peti) danced and talked for a while and then he kissed me! Ah! YES. Checked thatone right off my list. Not only did I kiss a kiwi, but a Reggae genious who was super nice. Best night ever :) Here are the picturesof the 3 "stages" with Peti. And yes, I had some friends watching the WHOLE time ,pretty embarrassing, but everyone was jealous after :) I kissed a Kiwi and I liked it! hahahaha
